What is discussed between Rama and Meta after of the refusal of Sandër Lleshi as Interior Minister by Albanian President?

After the 90-minute meeting of the head of government, Edi Rama and President of Albania Ilir Meta, came the first official statements.

"At his request, the Prime Minister met with the President of the Republic to discuss the contents of his letter on the proposal for decree of General Sander Lleshi as Interior Minister. The conversation was open and constructive and the prime minister will continue communicating with the President of the Republic," says official sources of the Prime Minister.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Rama addressed a message to MPs, who asked to them to not comment on the will expressed by the President Ilir Meta to not decree the proposal of Sandër Lleshi for Interior Minister.

Among other things, Rama wrote that the Majority has the duty to save the Albanian Constitution and the citizens, while he considers politics as a chess game, and that this is something that should not be forgotten, according to Rama.

"I beg you no comments on the President's decision! We are the Majority and we have the duty to help the people, the country, the Constitution, with prudence and determination. Politics is chess, do not forget," said the Prime Minister's message to deputies.

The refusal of the decree

The press office announced yesterday that President Meta did not created the obedience to decree Lleshi as a new minister.

"The President of the Republic Mr. Ilir Meta is not fully convinced in order to give credence to the candidacy of Mr. Sander Lleshi as Interior Minister," said the briefing of the Presidency.

A week ago, exactly on Saturday, October 27, Rama announced that he had appointed the General Sandër Lleshi in the post of Interior Minister after Fatmir Xhafaj's resignation. Shortly after the resignation, Meta decreed the dismissal of Xhafaj, but not the appointment of Sandër Lleshi.
