Security Committee member, Luan Rama were invited in Washington DC from American Jewish Community (AJC) to take part in the Global Forum on security issues and economic development, at his stay he had a special meeting with the U.S. State Director for Eastern Europe, Jonathan Moore.
MP Luan Rama answered to Mr. Moore for the latest political developments in Albania and the progress on reforms. Mr Rama said that the reform of the administrative territorial and that of justice are the priorities of Albanian governemn.
He also underlined the particular importance of strengthening and further expansion of cooperation with the U.S. as fundamental strategic partner for Albania.
Rama also noted that it is important that reforms in security and defense are the Albanians' government priorities, and should be done in close consultation and partnership with NATO and the U.S.
On the other hand, Jonathan Moore stressed that U.S. would continue to support the road of reforms in the interest of strengthening the role of Albania in the region, as a member of NATO.
During his stay in Washington, representatives of Parliament, MP Luan Rama and Councilor of the President for Foreign Policy, John Ralph, met also the representatives of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, Foundation Open Society and the Democratic NDI U.S. Institute.
