Albanian PEN Center, part of “PEN International”, organized on Saturday in Tirana its annual activity in the venues of Tefta Tashko Koço hall at the Ministry of Culture, where it announced the PEN Albania 2014 awards in literature.
The club PEN awarded 7 prizes among which “PEN Albania 2014”, “The Albanian writer of 2014”, “Albanian poet of 2014” and the “Interpreter of 2014” at the presence of writers, Albanologists and journalists.
In his address, Sadik Bejto, the secretary of Albanian PEN Centre, said that the PEN Center organizes the award ceremony to encourage values, work and contribution to literature, prose, poetry and translation, and promotes them abroad.
PEN Albania President Entela Safeti Kasi stressed that PEN shows that it is the linking bridge between Europe and the world, as a value of our authors’ identity”.
The prize “PEN Albania 2014” was awarded to Etem Kryeziu, the prize “Albanian poet of 2014” was awarded to Selajdin Saliu, “Interpreter of 2014” was awarded Hysen Sinani, while the “PEN Albanian in Diaspora” was awarded to Mërgim Osmani.
The PEN club awarded also prizes of gratitude and honor for authors like Natsha Lako, Sabri Maxhuni Novosela./atsh/
