State Police launched in past days a massive operation to uproot marijuana plots in various parts of the country and prevent marijuana trade and harvesting.
After an operation in Dukagjin, Shkodra, and other remote mountainous northern areas earlier this week, State Police structures have engaged in uprooting marijuana plots in other parts of the country destroying more than 12 000 marijuana plants over the past 24 hours only.
State Police said in a press release on Saturday, that some 7,090 marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed in Zabishte area in Kavaja, central Albania, and more than 1,275 cannabis plants were destroyed in the village of Karbunare, Vlora, Southweast Albania.
The operation also continued in the remote areas of Shkodra, Tepelena, Permet, Bulqize and Tirana and some 1990 cannabis plants were destroyed and two suspects were arrested.
