Greece’s Foreign Ministry describe Albania’s response on Saturday as “very encouraging”, related about the country’s commitment to fully respect and protect individual, religious and property rights of minorities.
The statement follows an incident occurred at the Holy Church of Saint Athanasios in Dhërmi, Himarë, when residents allegedly of Greek-descent tried to stop local authorities from demolishing an object build ilegally by the church.
“As has been the case until now, Greece will be at our neighbouring country’s side on its course toward Europe, on the condition, of course, that Albania fully meets all of its obligations provided for by international and European laws,” the Greek Ministry said in a statement today.
