A Bulgarian court has ruled to keep behind bars the 5 Albanians detained for crossing the border illegally. The court suspects that all men are connected to ISIS. They were detained on August 28 at Bulgarian-Macedonian border, in the checkpoint of "Gueshevo", one of three border crossings with Bulgaria.
They were traveling with Fatos Redzhipi, who attempted to bribe the guards with an amount of euros 175 each, according to Police, "Albeu" reports.
The 36-year-old, the only person who possessed ID is already behind bars and is expected to address the Court of Appeal for his measure.
As Bulgarian media report, he said was sorry for what he did, but they were his friends and they wanted him to take them to Turkey.
The men arrested are Flamur L 23, Besnik Bytyci 24, L.K, 20 and Atmir Bytyci 20. Three of them said they are from Kosovo and had no ID cards, while the fourth person said he did have an ID, but refused to provide it to the police.
The prosecution said that these citizens will face charges of illegal border crossing that provides 5 years in prison and a fine of levs 100 to 300.
The Prosecution also is investigating if they are connected to ISIS. In a statement to "BTV", Bulgarian Defense Minister Nikolai Nenchev said, it is not known how did the group crossed the border, but there is suspicion about various radical groups.
