Finance Ministre of Albania, Shkelqim Cani said in a press release that September 1st will be the first day when the government action against informality will officially start.
Cani said that the action will cover whole country - from Vermosh to Konispol - and that this operation is designed jointly with other institutions like IMF and also business representatives. According to him, 100 thousands businesses operate in Albania, but nearly 33% of them do not have e fiscal cash register, whereas level of informality is almost 50%.
Cani insisted that revenue increase is the main goal of this operation, which will help the government also in reducing taxes and public debt, but also help increasing wages and pensions.
