The Head of the General Taxation Directorate Brisida Shehaj welcomed Friday the positive outcomes of an ongoing nation-wide campaign against informality and tax evasion, saying that around 47 000 inspections have been carried out since Sep 1 with only irregularities identified in only 8 percent of them.
“As many as 47 048 inspections have been conducted by Sep 23 with irregularities found in only 8 percent of them. Inspectors have identified 625 cases of informal workers. In September, turnover rose by 35 % compared with the same period of 2014, or a turnover of some 14 billion leks,” Shehaj told a news conference.
