Deputy PM Niko Peleshi has unveiled on Thursday the master plan on Tirana lake park.In his speech, Peleshi said that the contest for local govt. plan is about to end soon and the lake park will be one of the most attractive destinations in the region.
“Territorial reform was the first response and also the first development which paved the way for Tirana municipality to treat this park as a separate one with a comprehensive local govt. plan. It will also correct the flaws of the previous one. The master plan will definitely draw a distinction between the park and urban area.
There will be no more trespassing on the green area. The project increases the green surface area by 5 ha. It is a decent master plan which requires great funding, but we will manage to give the citizens what they deserve. It has been designed to become one of the most beautiful attractions in the region,” Peleshi said.
For his part, Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj said that by returning the lake to the citizens he will deliver on one of the promises made during the campaign.
“Today the area has increased by 5.5 ha belonging to the former Republican Guard. As many as 13 buildings will be razed to the ground. The lake master plan has been divided into 10 mini projects, including rehabilitation of the dike, the race track and the beach zone. The Albanian Development Fund has decided that the amusement park will be the first project to be implemented.
