Pope is praying for the health of Michael Schumacher.
The healing the seven time World Champion of Formula 1 is moving slowly after severe damage to the brain about two years ago, during a skiing accident.
Pope said he would pray for his recovery, after a visit made to the headquarters of Formula 1. Jean Todt, president of F1's governing body said Pope asked him for the state of Schumacher.
The 49-year-old was seriously injured as he was skiing in December 2013. He suffered major brain damage.
After the skiing accident in the French Alps, he was taken rapidly to hospital, where he stayed for several months in a coma.
