| Banner protest writing: Stop, the business is dying! |
Again today is organized a protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana, where representatives of small business of the capital, supported by civil society have protested, according to them, to oppose tax increases.
In today's protest participated also citizens in support of small business representatives, demanding that institutions of local government to take measures to facilitate business taxes for this category.
One of the activists of civil society, Besjan Pesha, in his speech before the protesters called on to Tirana Municipal Council to negotiate with representatives of the business and to cancel the decision to increase taxes.Meanwhile we remind that yesterday there was a similar protest in front of Tirana Municipality, but except business representatives, also representatives of civil society and citizens backed by the opposition, opposed the construction of the park playground for children on the premises of the Artificial Tirana Lake.
In an official statement today, Tirana Police says that protesters confronted and challenged Municipal Police and State Police, then made calling for violence. Police announced that related to yesterday's rally, has detained two citizens, and 6 others are wanted.
