Arrested members of drug traffickers |
British police arrested today a band of Albanian drug traffickers in the city of Manchester on a secret operation coded 'Cortez'.
According to the city newspaper "Manchester Evening News", a group of Albanians spread first class drug to nightclubs across the second largest city in UK.
The investigation revealed that the gang members had arrived in Britain with false Greek and Italian documents. Their profit accounted to about 250 thousand pounds a day.The Albanian group had set up a hotline that operated 24/7 for the distribution of drugs. This fact has baffled detectives for speed and professionalism of its operation."Manchester Evening News" writes.
During the operation that culminated in the beginning of February, 17 addresses were raided by UK Police, 130 thousand of cash pounds were found and two firearms, ammunitions and a silencers.
According to the detective Alex Mulhall, the quality of the cocaine had a purity of 60-80 per cent.
"The Albanian community are fantastic people and extremely labor and this gang does not reflect this community. But there is a criminal element in every society. In this case we had to do with an Albanian gang that landed in the center of Manchester". he told to local newspaper.
