The Ministry of Defense released for sale 40 communist-era aircrafts. It is about airplanes and helicopters for non-military use. The auction is announced to will be held on February 22. The annunciation is made by the Ministry of Defence on its online portal. According to ministry's website, the initial auction value is 61 million and 400 thousand Lek without VAT divided into 40 lots.
For sale are 6 aircraft of type Yak - 18, 3 MiGs -15, 3 Uti - Mig, 4 MiG - 17, 4 Uti - Mig 17, 10 Mig - 19, 6 MiG - 21 and 4 helicopters Mi - 4.
The highest initial value is for MiGs 19 and MiGs 21, worth of 1 million and 900 thousand Lek. The aircrafts are in some locations of the country as Kucova, Rinas, Farka, and Gjader.The auction will take place at The Directorate of Auction and Procurement at the Ministry of Defence.
From this auction the Ministry of Defence intends to earn about 61 million Lek.
The aircrafts MiG 19 are made in Russia in 1953 and NATO labels them as "farmer". They are the product of the second generation. Have only one sit and two motors. This was the first Russian aircraft who reached a supersonic speed in flight.
While the cheapest planes are Jak18, where 6 of them have been exposed for sale with a starting price of 1.1 million. This planes are located in the base of Kucova.
