"The US government has forbidden entry to the United States to some corrupt judges by denieding or canceling their visas". This news was announced by the US Ambassador in Tirana, Donald Lu during a communication with the public on social networks.
Mr. Lu was asked by an interlocutor why US authorities did not intervene when they know that some Albanian politicians are corrupt.
"Absolutely corruption is a top priority of the US government in Albania. We are taking our measures, but also with civil society and Albanian leaders. Last year we saw how political parties removed several criminal candidates from the elections, corrupt politicians or others with criminal backgrounds were arrested or resigned. We support full implementation of the law of decriminalization. Finally, the US Government forbids the entry to United States of corrupt judges by refusing or canceling their visas," said Mr. Lu."This is only the beggining. We have much more work to do in order to fight corruption," warned US Ambassador Donald Lu.
The statement of Mr. Lu is regarded as another direct intervention in the process of decriminalization being undertaken by the Albanian politics.
