The company is owned for 34 percent from a citizen named Donald Shena, while 66 percent of its shares belonging to a US company known as American Capital Group
In the registration document of the company is specified that its object will be air flight services and facilities. "The target of the company is conducting airport services, processing of aircraft, passenger service, baggage, and cargo, bar - restaurants and other function facilities," is written on the document.
Since 2001, when the government of Fatos Nano signed the concession of Rinas, Albania international flights have been the monopoly of this airport. After 15 years of operation, it seems that finally the German company that manages the airport has agreed to cede its monopoly of international flights, thus paving the way for the construction of other airports in Albania.
