The head of Albanian Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, said from Vienna where he is participating in a meeting organized by the European People's Party that Albania has no capacity to cope with the influx of Syrian immigrants.
At this meeting a special attention was paid to the situation in the Western Balkans, with special emphasis on migrant crisis on the borders of Greece, Macedonia and Albania.
Democrat President requested the support of NATO and the EU, as according to him, the Albanian Government has limited options for coping with the situation. He also raised concern over the reactivation of criminal elements in human trafficking.
"The chances of this government to manage the crisis of refugees are very limited. Firstly, because of the bad situation of the rule of law which is exacerbated by the influence of organized crime that is being done to mobilize human trafficking across the Adriatic. This could deteriorate even further due to the infiltration of terrorist elements. Albania therefore needs the support of the EU," Basha said.
