OSCE Presence in Albania started a series of seminars for border police and migration with a view to increasing its capacity to better respond to the challenges of irregular migration, especially within the flow of migrants increased in the Western Balkans .
The first of these seminars, which are organized in close partnership with the Department of State Police and the General Directorate of Border and Migration, held in the South, where about 20 border police and immigration were trained for measures to be taken to respond to the situation.
Topics of the seminar were based on trends identified by Frontex and Europol and includes routes, selecting immigrants, profiling of potential terrorist fighters and criminal intelligence. The workshop was led by experts from Europol National Unit and the Albanian Border and Migration Police.OSCE Presence, together with Albanian partners, will organize similar seminars during the following days, with the border and migration police in Gjirokastra and Shkodra.
