The Serbian Government has officially asked from the President to dissolve the Parliament and call overall early elections.
The government said today that it is necessary, so that the new cabinet, "a clear mandate", could undertake the necessary reforms and put the country on the path towards European Union membership.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic called for early parliamentary elections on April 24th, at half of its mandate.His party Progressive is currently governing in coalition with several smalle parties. His party is also ranked the best in the polls, which place Vuçiqin on track to lead the next government. Serbian Progressive Party is fighting for a majority of 2/3 of the votes, which almost did it in the last elections, in 2014, when won 158 of 250 parliamentary seats.
