Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ilir Meta received a Turkish delegation led by Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, Ahmet Gundogdu.
Gundogdu and a group of Turkish MPs visited Albania to take part in the two-day symposium organized in the honor of the figure of Mehmet Akif Ersoit, a personality of Albanian origin, who founded the Turkish national anthem.
During the meeting Gundogdu and Meta emphasized the good relations that exist between Albania and Turkey and underlined the importance of strengthening these relations in important areas such as the economy, health, culture, education, etc."We talked about cooperation in the field of education and a greater attention to the education of younger generations. But of course we have talked also about the crisis in Syria and especially for the refugee crisis, and I want to appreciate once again Turkey in its giant effort to help millions of refugees who are trying to escape from the war," the head of the Assembly, Ilir Meta said. While Gundogdu said "this is a visit that is made to strengthen the fraternal relations between our two countries.
