US citizen from Atlanata, Georgia has established an organization for the protection and promotion of Albanian culture.
"Albanian tradition of 'Besa' (faith) saved my life 2 years ago while I was in the Dominican Republic," says Ashley Wood, founder and director of the organization "Albanian Voices". Ashlyn was doing research for her doctoral topic in a small town when wrongly found himself surrounded by a group of dangerous people. The whole scene, she tells, was seen by 4 Albanians.
"It was like a movie scene. I can not believe what was happening. Albanians started defending me for no reason, just because they considered me as a guest in that country." A unique concept of the Albanian culture is the tradition of the faith (Besa); which means that the guest life is worth more than everything and it must be protected while is in your faith."I was so touched and inspired by this so special culture that I decided to create 'Albanian Voices', hopping to share this wonderful culture with the rest of the world," says the girl.
