Minister of Defence of Albania, Mimi Kodheli, received today the Commander of Land Forces of Turkey, General Salih Zeki Çolak, who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Turkey in Tirana, Hidayet Bayraktar and military attaché, Colonel Bayram Tasci.
According to an official notification from the Ministry of Defense of Albania, Kodheli and Çolak, praised the high level of cooperation between the Albanian Armed Forces and the Turkish Armed Forces, especially in the field of training.
Minister Kodheli thanked the General Çolakthe about the assistance that Turkish Government has provided for the modernization of the Albanian Army in terms of logistical support, new weapons and vehicles.In the official announcement is noted that the participation in peacekeeping operations under NATO, was another topic discussed at the meeting. Meanwhile, Albanian and Turkish troops serve alongside each - another at the mission "Resolute Support" in Afghanistan.
Speaking about current security issues, Minister Kodheli expressed condolences for the loss of innocent lives in terrorist attacks that have recently hit several cities of Turkey, while she condemned these acts.
