Albanian Bektashi leader, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, is going in in a 2-day meeting at the Holy See in the Vatican, where he will meet with Pope Francis. The historic visit is aimed to further strengthen interfaith dialogue at a time when the world is facing terrorist attacks in the name of religion.
Religious affairs analyst, Ferdinand Samardzija says that this visit strengthens religious dialogue between religions and promotes peace in the world.
"The meeting with the papacy, on May 10 and with the Holy Father Pope Francis, on May 11, will strengthen the unity between faiths and religions in interreligious dialogue, will convey the vision that the Holy Father highly appreciated our nation. In Albania, harmony, tolerance, understanding, are mach mor, are brotherhood," Samardzija said.This is the first meeting of the Holy Father with a leader of Albania's religious communities in Rome.
