World famous Albanian soprano, Ermonela Jaho, has won the International Prize of Opera by the public votes.
This award, which can be called as the World "Oscar" of Opera, was given to the Albanian opera music star, during the awards ceremony held yesterday night at London's Savoy Theatre.
Jaho has won this award based on public votes worldwide. In the category of prices given by the world public, Albanian soprano competed with some of the most beautiful and best-known voices of contemporary opera, as Joyce Didonato, Juan Diego Florez, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Eva Maria Westbroek, etc.Speaking to Top Channel in London, after receiving the international award, Ermonela said: "I am very excited at the moment. I thank all Albanians who voted for me and the public that follows me in every part of the world. Anyone who devotes all his life to his passion, is always a winner," he said after receiving the international award.
This is the first price of this kind won by an Albanian artist.
