The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, considers that "the comprehensive and profound reform was a request for a long time by the majority of the citizens of Albania".
Furthermore, in a statement sent to media today, Ms Mogherini notes that this reform is also essential for the country's next step towards integration in the EU.
"Legislative proposal that is now before Parliament reflects the recommendations of the Venice Commission and is fully in line with these European standards", says Mogherini, and added that "it is essential that the proposal to be approved by two-thirds of votes, as required" . In her statement, the senior official of the European Union, which held a speech in the Parliament a few days ago when he visited Tirana, said that "we expect that all political forces to exploit the final round of tomorrow consultations for supporting the proposal ".
