Albania and Macedonia have decided to mutually recognize the contributions of pensions their citizens pay in each country.
The joint agreement was signed in Tirana between the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Blendi Klos and his Macedonian counterpart, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dime Spasov.
Mr. Klos said on this occasion that the agreement will serve hundreds of Albanians who actually work in Macedonia, also to dozens of Macedonian businessmen operating in Albania.On the other side Mr. Dimov said that this is a very important agreement between the two countries that will increase exchanges of staff for both countries and increase communication and cooperation.
Both ministers expressed hope that the agreement will pave the way for further promoting the development of common labor market and exchanges in the labor market. Mr. Klos and Mr. Dimov discussed the possibility of increasing the cooperation on education and vocational training.
The seasonal employment of two countries was also part of the discution, especially in border areas.
Albania has made several similar agreements with Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary and Austria. Now is working to sign the same agreement with Greece and Italy, two countries where live the majority Albanian immigrant.
