Serbian magazine Nedeljnik last night withdrew her article stating that "US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, has apologized for the US role in the bombing of the former Yugoslavia in 1999."
This Belgrade weekly said it likely was deceived by the publication of the interview - now discredited - with an official of Trump campaign, in which also claimed that Trump had expressed commitment to the new policy for the Balkans, if elected president .
NATO bombing against Yugoslavia stopped the serbian leader, Slobodan Milosevic, and has led to the end of war in Kosovo. In this period, the US president was Bill Clinton, husband of Hillary Clinton's Democratic rival of Donald Trump for the US presidential election on November 8.
"Mr. Trump has never given an interview for the Serbian weekly, Nedeljnik, as falsely reported by the discredited Newsweek, nor that such an interview is led online by Director state of Indiana," said Jason Miller, high councilor of Trump for communications.
"This was a lie, and we expect to receive formal withdrawal and apology from everyone involved," said Mr. Miller.
Within hours, the weekly Nedeljnik, in an editorial on its front, has admitted it likely was cheated and had retracted the story.
