The trade exchange between Kosovo and Serbia is continuing to grow year after year, despite the deterioration of political relations between the two countries.
By the end of the war, Kosovo imported from Serbia imported food and non-food products worth more than 4 billion euros. While Kosovo businesses for nearly two decades have exported to Serbia products worth of over 100 million euros.
Based on official data of the Statistics Agency of Kosovo imports from Serbia in 2015 have reached 382 million euros, while in the other side of Kosovo exports in 2015 reached 32 million euro maximum. Based on the latest data of the Statistics Agency Serbian imports participate with 14.5 percent of the overall total imports of the country, which is an increase compared to previous years.Selatin Kaçaniku, president of the Association for Consumer Protection, said Kosovo consumer is constantly manipulated by importing businesses, markets and traders.
According to him, forms of manipulation are more sophisticated, such as preparing the inspection oversight mechanisms of the market and the protection of the consumer.
According to him, all the products from all countries with which the Republic of Kosovo has no bilateral trade contracts, can be dangerous.
