During the reign of the Ottoman Empire, Albanians had migrated to the Ukraine. Although a small community still preserve traditions in Albanian language. They mainly come from Kosovo and Northern Albania.
During his stay in Ukraine, Ambassador of Albania in Poland, Shpresa Kureta, paid a visit to the village of Zaporizhia, Priazovski Municipality, where lives a part of the Albanian community.
Part of the ceremony was also an old staging in Albanian language by children and teachers. The visit ended with a meeting of representatives from all Albanian settlements in Ukraine (50 participants), a meeting which concluded with the establishment of the Ukrainian Union of Albanians./ Oculus News
