"I'm ready to go back and give my contribution if someone invites me in Albania. I've achieved everything I had ambition. I have enough and do not suffer for wealth. I would come in Albania at any moment if my help is required. Everything I learned for about quarter century in Canada I will to apply in my country", thus begins his story an Albanian wich Canad has entrusted him the defense system.
Konstandin Ristani is the symbol of a success story, but everything he achieved far away from Albania.
Invited to Top Channel, he confessed his 25 years inemigration where he now works at a high structure of the Canadian state. He is currently head of a very important unit in the NATO structure that deals with the architecture of the communication system and information about each mission or North-Atlantic Alliance activities.
"I left Albania in 1992 and moved to Canada when I get Canadian passport and naturalization after my mother was born in Canada in 1921. Although I have been graduated in civil engineering in Albania, I went in Canada as a nobody, because in 1992 they dismissed me. I started the University at the age of 40 in 1993, for Computer Science. I was the first Albanian to study and executives told me that I would be a precedent for other generations. After graduating, I worked in the statistical office there. While 10 years ago through a contest I became part of the Canadian Ministry of Defense. Currently I lead this important structure in NATO," he said.
Ristani shows that nothing has been easy, but to move forward he was helped by his ambition and desire to always learn. Proud to be holding two passports, Albanian and Canadian, but his heart has never left Albania.
"Everything I did is certainly worth it. If we go back in 1992, I would not leave Albania because all what I achieved today has been very hard." said Ristani./Oculus News
