The government gave the green light to the construction wind power turbines for energy production by an Albanian company at Tepelena villages.
It is about about an investment of around 13 million euros, totally private and the company from about 5 years has launched a feasibility study, the technical and received authorizations for connecting to TSO network. Also it has obtained ownership rights over the places were windmills towers will be set up .
There will be 6 towers, with a height of 80 to 92 meters, 100 meters in diameter and with an installed power of 12 megawatts. All investments must be completed within seven months from the date of receipt of the construction permit.Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and investment company must conclude the agreement within one month on the implementation of the contract.
The authorization for the wind farm is about 25 years and the company is forced to provide to the state 2 percent of the energy produced . If realized, this would be the first case of the production of renewable energy from wind in Albania.
