Albania participated in the Book Fair - Tempi di Libri - in Milan this week, where was discussed about the possibility of translation and promotion of Albanian literature in Italian. In this Fair are held cross-cultural meetings on cultural cooperation.
Elira Kokona, Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Ledia Mirakaj, First Secretary at the Albanian Embassy in Italy, and Mimoza Hysa, Director of the Directorate of Creation of the Word and Translation in the Ministry of Culture were received by Federico Motta, President of the Italian Associationof Publishers and Alfieri Lorencon, Director of Italian Publishers Association.
In the focus of the meeting was discussed about establishing bridges of cooperation to help promote books and authors in a mutual way. The Italian side expressed their willingness to assist in training publishers in order to face new challenges in the field of the book.Elira Kokona said that "Artists and Writers have created the bridges of communication and institutional policies have the duty to support".
The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Italy, Anila Bitri Lani, said that "The establishment of an Albanian culture institute in Italy is one of our aims to make it possible not only to promote our culture in Italy but also to preserve it in the younger generations Of Albanian emigrants".
Mauro Geraci, editor of the Italian edition of the book "Musine Kokalari, my university life.
