During the first three months of this year, the Kosovo Police seized over two million counterfeit euros, Radio Free Europe reports.
During these three months, police say have treated 243 cases of counterfeiting money in the amount of 2 million and 140 thousand euros and arrested 18 people who have been involved in such illegal acts.
Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha told to Radio Free Europe that the cases of counterfeit money are reported by citizens and various banking authorities."Kosovo Police has conducted a number of actions against criminal offenses which under the Criminal Code are considered 'counterfeit money', and we can conclude that as a result of these operational efforts have been arrested suspected persons and are seized relevant evidence including counterfeit money.
"Referring to statistics, during the period from January to March of this year, in combating this phenomenon that has an impact on the welfare of the citizens of Kosovo Police has reported 243 cases, while the value of counterfeit money reaches 2.14 million euros, while 18 people were arrested," Hoxha said. /Oculus News
