President Bujar Nishani gave the Albanian citizenship to former Kosovo Prime Minister and leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, who is still in France because of the trial against him based on Serbia's demand. In addition to the former Kosovo Prime Minister, the Head of State hgave also the citizenship to his wife Anita Haradinaj.
The decree was signed today by President Bujar Nishani.
"Based on Article 92, c, and Article 93 of the Constitution, as well as Article 9, item 7, of Article 20 of Law no. 8389, dated 05.08.1998, "On Albanian Citizenship", amended, is granted Albanian citizenship at their request, to Ramush Hilmi Haradinaj and Anita Mustafë Haradinaj," reads the decree of President for Haradinaj's citizenship. |

Haradinaj was arrested on the basis of an international warrant issued by Serbia dating back to 2004.
The trial panel in Colmar, France, where the Serbian party's request for Haradinaj's extradition in Serbia is being judged, said that on April 27 a decision will be taken regarding the charges made by Serbia towards the leader of AAK./Oculus News
