The Ambassador of the United States in Serbia, Kyle Scott, says he sees this Balkan country (Serbia) in strengthening ties with the European Union and has minimized the view that Belgrade is approaching Russia.
"Serbia is approaching Russia ... no! Is happening quite the opposite, I think that Serbia is seeking and is moving closer to the European Union. But Serbia has presented a different position, is very clear that Serbia wants to be militarily neutral and we respect that, but wants to integrate into the EU, and we support this process very much too, because we think it is for the benefit of the Serbian people, we think it is in the interest of the region and we will continue to support this," said uS Ambassador Kyle Scott, in an interview to Radio Free Europe.Furthermore, he said that the growing protests in Serbia are a sign of "vigorous democracy" and a "very sound element."
Mr. Scott, who speaks Serbian and Russian language, in February last year became the US ambassador to Serbia./Oculus News
