Albanian Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Milva Ekonomi participated in the tourist activity 'Mountain Tourism Day', organized by the Municipality of Great Highland at the touristic area of Razme, a tourist event to promote the values of this beautiful area in northern Albania.
Minister Ekonomi talked about the overall economic reforms of the Government in 44 months, including the tourism sector.
"In 44 months in government, we managed to have a better economy, better governance, more modern and more transparent, closer to citizens. Many reforms have been undertaken to make the Albanian economy grow. Efforts have been great, painful reforms, but we are convinced that without reform we can not move forward for a worthy economic development of Albania. The center of economic development must be Albanian citizen, which should be treated with the same dignity as other citizens in Europe," Economy said.Further on, she focused on tourism figures that have been very positive for the past year, hoping to maintain the same trend and this year. She said that the number of tourists grew by about 15% over the previous year, or else 4.2 million tourists visited Albania from north to south in 2016.
"We are already the same as other countries in the region, so the tourist does not necessarily leave Albania for the highest price", said Ekonomi, while stressed that the main objective of this tax is the reduction of informality in the tourism sector
"There is still a lot to be done. We must continue the reforms, overcome the difficulties we have before, to give Albanian young people the confidence that Albania is a place where you can live worthy and in a well-paid work. We promise that we will turn the tourism sector into a formalized sector using every resource we have and doing the promotions, like this one you are doing today," she said./Oculus News
