A Serbian newspaper askeq the US ambassador in Belgrade to apologize and warned that would sue him if he does not withdraw his words.
Ambassador Kyle Scott called rubbish the Serbian newspaper "Informer" accusing it of publishing lies.
"The ambassador, without any reason and provocation, has insulted the newspaper in the most vulgar way," says a Declaration of the "Informer."The newspaper will sue the ambassador in Serbia and in the US, if he does not apologize.
Scott made his comments on May 18, after being asked by an informer journalist to comment on a report from the newspaper saying that the European Union plans to hinder negotiations for Serbia's membership, "because some officials do not like the way Aleksandar Vucic leads Serbia. "
In a video posted by the Serbian news agency Tanjug, Ambassador Scott appears to say in Serbian: "Are you from 'Informer? Sorry to say that, but that would not be the only lie I've read in 'Informer' and certainly will not be the last one. "
"There is so-called resource-based information that I have no idea who they are. 'Informer' is a common garbage, as your Prime Minister would say. The media should be based on facts and I do not see facts in Informer," Scott said.
