A delegation of members of the United States Congress lead by Bob Goodlatte is visiting Tirana to discuss with state leaders about recent political developments in Albania.
At the meeting with the President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani, according to the presidency's announcement, they exchanged views on the political situation, the upcoming parliamentary elections, the progress of judicial reform, the rule of law, the concern about the phenomenon of cannabis and drug trafficking, Organized crime as well as the financial budget for military expenditures and defense, given that Albania is a NATO member country and a loyal ally of the United States of America.At this meeting, according to the announcements, was also appreciated the institutional role and commitment of President Nishani in mediating the dialogue between political parties in the country.
