The sustainability of Albanian has been shocked by 2016 - number of marriages has dropped significantly and divorces have increased dramatically.
According to INSTAT data in 2016 for 100 marriages there was 31.2 divorce, a year ago in 2015 there were 21 divorces per 100 marriages.
The annual growth of divorces has been significant with a 48 percent increase compared to 2015.Over the last decade, divorces have risen moderately, but the phenomenon is seen to have had a huge jump in the last three years.
From 14.8 divorce to 100 marriages in 2007, in 2013 this indicator marked 15.8 divorces per 100 marriages, climbing to 17.8 in 2014 and 21 divorces per 100 marriages in 2015.
The growing trend of divorces corresponds to a lower number of marriages. During 2016 there were about 22.6 thousand marriages in Albania, with a decrease of 9.7 percent in 2015.
If we analyze marriages by age group and gender, we see that more than 54.9% of marriages are realized by the age of 24, and 83.0% of marriages are realized by the age of 29, reports INSTAT.
This explains the relatively young age of marriage for women who is 25.1 years old and for men 52.9% of marriages are realized up to the age of 29, and 82.2% of marriages for this gender are realized until the age of 34.
An interesting indicator is the rate of marriages by age groups over the years. We see a decline in the marriage rate up to the age of 24. This also explains the slight rise of average age in women's marriage.
Compared to 10 years ago, women get marryed relatively three years older. This change is relatively slow, but this behavior is observed with the same trend for both genders.
In this edition INSTAT has calculated early marriages for girls and boys at any age for the age group 15-19. As for the number of married girls before the age of 18 is 10.
Meanwhile, the percentage of married girls at the age of 18 is 6.5% and at the age of 19 is 8.2%.There are no marriages for boys before the age of 18 and the proportion of married boys at 18-19 years old is negligible./Oculus News
