Greek news media reported that an Albanian military convoy traveling to Romania to participate in a NATO exercise was unblocked this evening.
A convoy of 20 vehicles and two buses was blocked for five hours at Eganatia Highway near Kozani, northern Greece, by a large group of sympathizers of the Greek Communist Party.
According to local Greek sources, the Greek anti-NATO communists and anti-NATO banners created a human chain by not allowing the passage of a military convoy that had come from Albania and was traveling to Romania. Greek police said they would use force and the leaders of the communist political grouping ordered five hours later the release of the road. The Albanian Army General Staff confirmed the continuation of the mission by Albanian servicemen.
"The entire group enjoys full health and is accompanied by security measures by Greek military and civil authorities," is stated in a press release yesterday evening by Greek authorities./Oculus News
