The Albanian national coach Gianni de Biasi resigned from the leadership of the Albanian national football.
Following yesterday's announcement that he would not renew the contract at the end of the edition, today the Italian come out at a press conference with the president of Albanian Football Federation (AFF), Armand Duka, suggesting the closure of the co-operation.
He read his letter in tears and emotions.De Biasi is the most successful national coach and managed to send Albania to European Championships.
Gianni de Biasi resignation letter:
This is a page of my professional experience in Albania that I would never have wanted to write!
I've been thinking and meditating for long and I want to inform you that starting from today I will not be the coach of our national team!
I will stop here because I want to think about the good and the team's growth.
I believe that I have fulfilled my duty, which has allowed me to draw from these boys the qualities that in the recent past have enabled us to live the European dream!
That dream, which in the first match in Georgia, through that open letter I wanted to stick in their head and in their heart!
It's a very professional, multi-faceted, difficult choice! I wish you could understand, though not everyone can accept it! We have lived years full of emotions and pleasures and have achieved really important results that many considered impossible.
During all this time I have always worked with great passion, with a new enthusiasm thanks to the results and the euphoria of all Albanians in Homeland and those spread around the world!
Daily engagement, trying to transfer to the boys a new mentality, a winning mentality!
Constant engagement, along with your media and journalists to get a fair, transparent, proactive communication, has been a really hard-working, annoying, and sometimes really annoying job!
I would like to emphasize today that I am leaving the Nation's leadership without having a team to work while I have always resisted the temptations of the job offers during these years, knowing that my country was in the lead of our boys to a sustainable growth in terms of their realization.
After the European Championship I was firmly convinced that we could improve further and that the experience we had during the three matches in France would allow us a further global growth.
And so it will be, but with a new coach!
I'm leaving with difficulty but aware that my cycle in this group has ended and to give the opportunity to get substituted, to recognize the boys in the next four games.
Allow me to thank all those who collaborated in the growth and development of the Albania project that has led us to be in the 22nd place of the FIFA Ranking, which has enabled us to beat Norway out of our house, win and equalize against Frances and win Against Portugal, beatened from us until the invasion of Euro 2016 !!!
And finally to reach our dream ...
I would like to thank those who gave me this great opportunity, President Armando Duka, who has always supported me and given me the White Paper (La Carta Bianca) to act in my role as a Selector!
A heartfelt thanks to all the boys who have been part of the team all this time, thank you for everything you have given me, of what you gave to us for our t-shirt!
It is an experience that has enriched me both professional and in the human aspect, you surprised with your dedication and involvement in our challenge!
Thank you to all my associates, especially Paolo Tramezzani, a travel companion from my first day in Albania, always ready to support the work in the field and on many trips to meet the youngest players!
To Alberto who has followed the preparation and recovery of the boys, to Ilir Boziqi, Ervin Bulku and all the technical staff! Benjamin Celiku, Gianluca Stesina, Filippo Iori who handled the players together with Ylli Mihali, Merepeza, Arben Voci, and the great Fatos Kademi an treless worker!
To All Known and Great Team Men!
For all the people working in the Federation, who are not distinguished but who did a valuable job for the final result!
Special thanks to all our fans, our twelfth player.
Always ready to follow us everywhere with flags and heart.
Everything in football, in sports, just like in life, has its beginning and an end! My cycle as a National Trainer ended, but nothing can ever break the strong link that connects me with our Nation and many people who have been fortunate enough to meet in these five years and a half!
Now the seed is planted on the ground, it is growing and with the commitment, care and work of all will know produce excellent fruits.
Gratitude, Gianni De Biasi!/Oculus News
