The Republic of Kosovo is close to be accepted by INTERPOL, a statement issued by the outgoing Government says.
"By a letter to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Skender Hyseni, INTERPOL Secretary-General Jurgen Stock informed that the INTERPOL Executive Committee has decided that to put on agenda of the General Assembly to be held in Beijing, China, the Republic of Kosovo's application for membership in INTERPOL.""Kosovo's membership in INTERPOL, would advance Kosovo's capacities to fight against all crimes, as well as strengthen the statehood and international subjectivity of the Republic of Kosovo. "The Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the two and a half years of its mandate, with the substantial support of Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, worked with great dedication in advancing its capacities and in cooperation with other governmental departments have strongly advocated Kosovo's membership in INTERPOL, which is expected to result in Kosovo's accession in September," reads the Government's press release.
