A prosecutor demanded a prison sentence for the nephew of former communist dictator Enver Hoxha and his eight co-workers for cocaine trafficking to Western Europe.

The 42-year-old Ermal Hoxha and the others were arrested in January 2015, accused of creating an organized criminal group who had imported a substance with cocaine from Columbia. This substance was then processed in a laboratory set up in the Labinot area in Elbasan, where the basic substance contained cocaine and treated until it was released in its final form, ready to be marketed or trafficked. In the operation carried out by the police that led to the arrest of group members, dozens of kilo of cocaine were found, as well as large amounts of blends and other drugs used to treat drugs, which had Germany as its main destination. In fact, there were German authorities who had signaled the Albanian side for this traffic line in December 2014.
