Beyond individual efforts in canyons across the rivers of Albania, canoe remain an exotic sport.
But are the Albanians born or raised abroad who are trying to put Albania in the map of these increasingly demanding sports. It is about Mandi and David Mandia, the two Albanian brothers born in Italy and who have practiced there for years canoeing.
Today they are back to compete for the Albanian flag, trusting in their experience.The 19-year-old Mandi Mandia is ranked fifth in the European Youth Canoe Championship. While his brother, David Mandia, 17, won the 4th place in the European Cup for the 16-year-olds and is ranked second in the national ranking in Italy.
The Mandia brothers were the last guests at the offices of the Albanian National Olympic Committee (ANOC), where, in a conversation with the General Secretary of ANOC, Stavri Bello, they discussed their objectives as Albanian sportsmen, the promotional and developmental opportunities of this sport in our country.
