A former senior state police chief has been arrested a week ago in Durres for the purpoese of extradition to Italy as he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
He is Dritan Xhindoli, with the rank of commissar, who was recently part of the structures at the General Directorate of Police, after being transferred there from the deputy director of the Vlora Border, which was the highest duty he held in his career.
The official announcement by the Italian authorities is made on June 9, 2017. With a letter of this date, the Directorate for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime seeks to locate and capture the citizen Dritan Xhindoli after being declared internationaly wanted by Italian authorities for allegations of theft and documents falsification.According to a letter from the Italian authorities, it is noted that the 39-year-old Xhindoli was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Bologna Court.
The arrest warrant is made even earlier than that, but some Albanian media say that it was kept secret since 2013.
