The Albanian Armed Forces, part of the Maritime Force rescued 53 migrants comming from Syria in the Aegean Sea, 18 of them children, 12 women and 23 men. The announcement was given by Defense Minister Olta Xhacka through a status on 'Facebook'.
"Because our Armed Forces are the Best! The crew of the "Oriku" ship, part of the Navy Force, missions in the Aegean Sea during patrol, saved a few hours ago 53 Syria migrants. 18 children, 12 women and 23 men are now sound thanks to the contribution of our boys and girls to the Aegean.
In the 18 months of Albania's representation in the NATO operation in the Aegean Sea, the "Sea Guardian", the Albanian crew has saved 600 immigrants.
