American analyst for the Balkans, Daniel Serwer, during an interview to Zëri newspapper, said that President Hashim Thaci's request to his counterpart, Ilir Meta, for Kosovo citizens to be equiped with Albanian passports reduces Kosovo's sovereignty. According to him, such a request is not accepted by Albania because of fear of returning back to its EU perspective.

Serwer during this interview also talked about Thaci's criticisms of internationals for the Special Court.
According to him, if the KLA wants to be remembered for good, its supporters should not defend the human rights abuses committed by its members.
