With the completion of the process of dismantling the old ammunition and armament of the Albanian Army, some armaments and ammunition factories in the country have now been left without any activity.
For this reason, the Ministry of Defense and the government have thought that these factories to come back to work through partnerships with private individuals, as well as with the arms and ammunition manufacturing companies of developed NATO member countries.
Such is the project that is expected to be implemented at the Mjekës factory in Elbasan, for which an Italian well-known munitions production company has shown interest."This is an investment worth at around $ 25 million and will employ about 150 people at the first stage. It is a leader in Europe for weapons and ammunition and would be an extraordinary opportunity to revitalize the old ammunition factory of Mjekës," said Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka.
The Defense Ministry welcomes such projects and business plans for other military facilities in the country..
