The first textbooks and teaching materials prepared by the Ministry of Education of Turkey for the subject of the Albanian language, which were introduced into the curriculum as elective subjects, were distributed to the students.
The Ministry of Education and the University of Thrace on October 21 last year had signed cooperation protocol for teaching Albanian and Bosnian language within the elective language course and Live Dialects.
Consequently, the curriculum for Albanian and Bosnian for the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade of lower secondary schools (according to the education system in Turkey) was accepted to be implemented as an elective subject starting from the academic year 2017-2018, following the approval of Turkey's Educational Board.Last month between the Ministry of Education and Rectorate of the University of Thrace was signed a donation agreement on the preparation of textbooks and materials for the Albanian and Bosnian language subjects.
Textbooks and materials of the Albanian language, prepared by a commission within the Rectorate of the University of Thrace, have been approved by the Ministry.
The textbooks were shared for eighth grade students
The subject of Albanian language was chosen by 44 students at "Alija Izetbegovic" School in Kemalpasa, Izmir. The Albanian language books were distributed free of charge for the pupils of this school,
Students will have the opportunity to learn the course of Albanian language for two hours a week, relying on additional courses during the weekend.
Also, the Local Education Directory at Kemalpasha and the Albanian Cultural Association in Turgutlu this month have signed a protocol for the opening of the Albanian language course. The lecture on these weekend support courses will be held by a teacher born in Albania.
Meanwhile, is expected soon the distribution of texts for the Bosnian language subject, which are currently in the printing process.
