An Israeli citizen was detained yesterday at Rinas Airport after a huge amount of money was found hidden in his body.
To Israeli citizens was found 250 thousand of euros, not declared during a check by the Border Police in cooperation with Rinas Customs.Official State Police sources said yesterday that Border Police services exercised physical control over the Israeli citizen Efim Reichman, 49, at the entrance and in this way the hidden money was discovered.
The money was seized until the end of the investigation and accurate determination of origin. Reichman had traveled from Moscow to Tirana, and when he was questioned by the Border and Customs Police services whether or not he had money to declare, he stated that he had nothing.
But after the physical check, the money was discovered and he said he did not know that they should be declared, although the limit of money that may be held without being declared should not exceed 10,000 euros. A few days ago were detained an Istraeli couple who had 290 thousand euros not declared.

State Police said yesterday it has launched a criminal proceeding in free state and referred materials at the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for the Israeli citizen Efim Reichman, 49. He is charged with "Non-Declaring the Limits of Money and Valuable objects".
The sources said the 49-year-old resident in Israel had traveled from Moscow and was banned after physical inspection at Mother Teresa Airport. He was immediately escorted to the Rinas Commissariat, where he was questioned about the origin of money and the reason why he had not previously declared the 250,000 euros.
Pilice said that the Israeli has said that got money had to do business in Albania and did not know that he had to declare these money. Asked what business he was talking about, he said he would open a dental clinic in Tirana.
However, until the end of the investigation the money will be kept seized. Police have initiated verifications on the authenticity of his statements and the identification of persons he claims he would collaborate with in Albania.
