Turkish President Erdogan said that it would be a "serious mistake" for Europe to push Turkey out of its enlargement policy, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
"It would be a serious mistake for Europe, which aims to be a global force, to push Turkey out of its enlargement policy," Erdoğan said during a joint press conference at the Turkey-EU Summit in Varna, Bulgaria .
"Our counterterrorism operations contribute not only to our security and to the Syrians but also to the security of Europe," he said."We now expect strong support (from Europe) for sensitive issues such as the fight against terrorism, instead of unsustainable and unfair criticisms," he added.
Also, Erdoğan said Ankara is hoping to begin the process of renovating the customs union with the EU.
